Academic
Advising
Students entering
the BBA Advantage program transfer a variety of coursework to BPC.
After Admissions is granted, the Registrar’s office will provide
the student and advisor an Academic Guidesheet. This Guidesheet
will indicate all courses needed for the completion of the degree
including the 42 hour BBA Advantage Program curriculum. The Academic
Advisor will work with the student to determine what courses are
needed to complete the degree program.
Taking Additional Courses – students who need additional courses
to graduate have the option to take these classes prior to or after
the Cohort Program. Special approval is necessary for students who
desire to take additional courses while currently enrolled in the
cohort program. This action constitutes a course overload for the
student and approval must be made in writing to and granted by the
Dean of External Programs. Courses taken outside the 42 hour cohort
program will result in additional charges.
Attendance
Policy
The nature
of the BBA Advantage program requires students to attend all class
sessions. The class session are broken down into required onsite
and online sessions. The onsite sessions are held once per week
for four (4) hours. At these sessions, the entire class meets with
the faculty member. Class attendance records are maintained by the
faculty member and submitted to the Office of External Programs.
In addition, students will be required to meet online at a given
point throughout each week.
- Onsite Class
Attendance Policy - Students are expected to be present when class
begins, and remain the entire class session. To be counted present,
a student must attend a total of three (3) hours or more of a
class that is four (4) hours in length.
- Online
Class Attendance Policy – Students are expected to participate
with all online discussions each week.
If a student
exceeds the allowed absences and does not contact the Site Director
of the campus offering the cohort program to officially withdraw
before the last class session, the instructor is directed to issue
the grade of "F".
- Under emergency
circumstances, a student may be allowed one (1) absence per course.
An absence will be given if a student misses either an onsite
or online class session. Students need to contact the faculty
member regarding make up work.
Students enrolled
in the cohort program are expected to attend all courses. When that
is not possible, the procedures below must be followed:
- Students
who must miss a course due to unavoidable circumstances must
arrange for a temporary leave of absence with the Site Director
prior to the beginning of the course.
- Students
needing to withdraw while
in a course may do so by arrangement with the Site Director prior
to the end of the course, but the regular refund and academic
withdrawal policies apply. Please review the Withdrawal/Refund
Policy.
Faculty members
reserve the right to factor lateness, early departures, and class
attendance (including online participation) into a student’s
grade, as long as it is addressed in the syllabus.
